Terms of Service

The terms for using ChapterLingo's AI generation service.

Last updated: August 2026

By using ChapterLingo, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who we are

ChapterLingo is operated as an individual sole proprietorship under the name ChapterLingo. You can reach us at support@chapterlingo.com, which is monitored by a human on business days.

The service

ChapterLingo provides a workspace for AI video and image generation using prompts, reference media, and model settings. Features, models, credit rules, and pricing may change.

Third-party AI providers

Generation runs on third-party AI infrastructure. Prompts, uploaded media, and model settings you submit are sent to the provider that serves the model you selected, currently KIE.ai and PoYo, which in turn route to the underlying model vendors — including Google (Veo, Nano Banana), ByteDance (Seedance, Seedream), Kuaishou (Kling), and OpenAI (GPT Image). ChapterLingo does not train models on your content.

Accounts

Keep your account information accurate and your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use ChapterLingo.

Acceptable use

These content standards apply to every ChapterLingo feature — image generation, image editing and studio tools, photo restoration, text-to-video, image-to-video, and the video studio — and cover prompts, uploaded reference media, and generated results alike.

Prohibited content

You may not generate, upload, request, or attempt to generate any of the following:

1. Adult and NSFW content Pornographic, sexually explicit, or sexually suggestive material of any kind; nude, intimate, or sexualized imagery of a real person, with or without their consent; and fetish or sexually degrading content.

2. Violence and gore Realistic depictions of extreme violence, torture, mutilation, graphic injury, or death; content that glorifies, promotes, or incites violence against any person or group; instructions or depictions that facilitate terrorism, extremism, mass violence, or the production of weapons.

3. Hate speech and harassment Content that attacks, demeans, dehumanizes, or incites hatred or discrimination against a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation; hateful symbols and propaganda; targeted harassment, bullying, threats, or doxxing.

4. Child safety (CSAM) Any sexual, suggestive, or exploitative content involving a minor, or content that sexualizes anyone who appears to be under 18 — in any style, including illustration, anime, or cartoon. This also covers content that endangers or exploits minors in any other way.

5. Deepfakes and impersonation Realistic synthetic depictions of a real, identifiable person created to deceive — including fabricated statements, actions, or events attributed to them; impersonation of a real person, brand, official, or organization; fabricated content presented as a real news event, official communication, or authentic recording; and non-consensual synthetic intimate imagery.

6. Intellectual property infringement Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights — including reproducing protected characters, artwork, logos, trade dress, or the likeness of a person, where you do not hold the rights or a valid exception. You are responsible for holding the rights to any media you upload.

Zero tolerance

Child sexual abuse material, terrorism and violent extremism, incitement to genocide or mass violence, guidance on weapons of mass destruction, and non-consensual synthetic intimate imagery carry no warning step: the account is terminated immediately, credits are forfeited, and the matter is preserved and reported to the appropriate authorities and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where the law requires it.

Other prohibited use

You may not misuse the service, bypass limits or safety filters, use jailbreak prompts, or interfere with other users or infrastructure. You may not deploy malware, spam, scraping, or automated abuse of the generation endpoints. You may not present AI-generated output as human-created work where doing so misleads people in a way that matters — for example in journalism, academic work, or legal, medical, or financial advice.

How we enforce this

We use a combination of automated safety filters on prompts and outputs, provider-side moderation from the underlying model vendors, and human review of flagged and reported cases. Depending on severity and history, we may block a generation before it runs, remove content, issue a warning, restrict or suspend features, or terminate the account. Credits spent on generations blocked or removed for violating these rules are not refunded. Terminated users may appeal once by writing to support@chapterlingo.com; we review appeals independently of the original decision.

Reporting a violation

If you see content produced or shared through ChapterLingo that breaks these rules, report it to support@chapterlingo.com with the subject line "Report", including a link or screenshot and a short description. This mailbox is monitored by a human on business days.

  • Child safety and non-consensual intimate imagery reports are handled first — mark the subject line "Urgent — child safety" or "Urgent — NCII" and we will act on the same day we receive it.
  • We acknowledge reports within 3 business days and tell you the outcome once the review is complete.
  • Reporter identity is kept confidential and is never disclosed to the reported user.
  • Every report is reviewed independently on its own facts, not on who filed it.
  • If you believe content infringes your copyright or trademark, or depicts you without consent, write to the same address and we will remove it while we review.
  • Repeatedly filing reports known to be false is itself a violation of these terms and is recorded against the reporting account.

Generated content

You are responsible for confirming that you have the rights to the prompts you enter, the media you upload, and the results you use. Check for yourself whether a result may be used, how rights are handled, and whether it complies with third-party rights.

Payments and credits

ChapterLingo sells credits. Credits are consumed per generation at the cost shown before each run; failed jobs are not charged. You can buy credits as a one-time pack or through a recurring subscription plan. Prices, credit costs, and plan terms apply as of the time of purchase.

Payments are processed by our payment providers, depending on the checkout you use: Stripe, and Waffo Pancake for purchases made through the Waffo Pancake checkout. Card details are entered on the provider's checkout page and never touch ChapterLingo's servers. The provider handling your purchase is shown at checkout and on your receipt.

Subscriptions and automatic renewal

When you provide a payment method and subscribe to a paid plan, you expressly authorize ChapterLingo and its payment processor to automatically charge that payment method the subscription fee at the start of each billing period — monthly or yearly, as shown at checkout. This authorization continues until you cancel under the section below.

  • The renewal price is the plan price in effect at the time of renewal. We will notify you by email before any price increase takes effect.
  • We send a renewal reminder email before each renewal charge, at least 7 days in advance.
  • Subscription credits are granted at the start of each billing period. Unused subscription credits do not roll over unless the plan says otherwise.

Cancellation

You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account, at Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription, without contacting support. Cancellation takes effect immediately: your plan will not renew and you will not be charged again. You keep access to credits already granted for the current period. You may also delete your account entirely at Settings → Security.

Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which includes a 7-day refund window for first-time subscribers who have used little or none of their plan credits. The same policy is shown at checkout.

Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose of AI generation results.

Changes and termination

We may update the service or these terms. Material changes to these terms will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date at least 15 days before they take effect. We may limit or end an account or access to the service in case of a breach, abuse, or operational need.
